Robert L. Rassmussen, Captain, USN (Ret.)
Created original design for Astronaut Hall of Fame.
Some of his outstanding accomplishments:
Participated in the introduction of the F-11 in the Blue Angles Flight Demonstration Team, April 1957. Made the first successful dead engine landing in the F-11, August 1957. XO and Co of VF-111 during initiation and continuation of Vietnam conflict Operation "Rolling Thunder"; the two to three times daily Alpha Strike operation into the heart of North Vietnam. Directed National Museum of Naval Aviation during 1987 to present expansion in which museum size and operation was increased 300% and collection was increased over 400%.
Married to former Phyllis Colter of Pensacola. They have two wonderful children.
